Cultivating A path to healing
Therapy supports individuals to become more introspective, manage emotions, build healthier support systems, and develop strategies to cope with life’s challenges. Dr. Varzeas provides clients with a compassionate, warm, accepting, and collaborative space throughout their healing process. It is her hope to equip clients with daily practices to enrich and improve their quality of life.
Dr. Varzeas received specialized training to address the intersections of movement, food, and body with a particular interest in supporting those who identify as athletes. Using an integrative approach to address each client’s unique needs, Dr. Varzeas weaves together components of narrative therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing (MI), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and Health at Every Size® (HAES) principles. She strongly believes in the importance of continually reflecting upon and challenging structural inequalities around social justice issues and how these issues shape an individual’s story.

steps of the psychotherapy process
Schedule a Discovery call
To begin, please schedule a free discovery call during which we will determine if we are a good therapeutic fit. During the consultation, we’ll speak about your reasons for seeking therapy, and I’ll answer any questions you may have!
Meet for our first session
The first session will be focused on getting to know you! I’ll leave space for you to share your history, current symptoms and past struggles, review our practice policies, and answer any questions you may have.
Develop your Goals
Our second session is dedicated to establishing your treatment goals and developing your treatment plan. We will identify any barriers to achieving your goals and how treatment can work to reduce those barriers.
Continued Support
I recommend meeting weekly with clients to continue developing rapport and build our relationship to work towards your goals. Throughout treatment, goals will be altered and adjusted to best meet your needs and other challenges may be identified. As you continue to progress we may decrease frequency of our meetings and/or you may decide that your treatment goals have been met!
